I listen to the gentle murmuring voice
Of our city, awake despite the hour
And I linger, unwilling to return
To the television world inside — droolingmonkey

Home

Thankyou so much for all of your lovely thoughts and prayers.
We have had 3 days of stress and heartache but today I have finally bought my beautiful James home.He is sleeping so peacefully, soaking in the love of God.
Hes semi conscious, having harley dreams and remembering the wonderful times we have had together. The doctors are amazed at his fortitude and strength.Once they stopped the vomitting and changed his pain relief he was so much better.Hes my angel and is beginning his journey to everlasting life.God is with us and we are at peace..utterly.
I thank Jake so much for being such a thoughtful and helpful son.Hes always there for us,hes strong and brave and forever faithful.Im so proud of him.
Please pray for James loving family, for his Mum and his sister and his gorgeous brothers.I know how hard it must be for them to be so far away..I want to thank them for trusting me at this time to do the right thing for James.
I love you all.

Labyrinth

After a bad day and a terrible night, this morning James and Butterflies rode the ambulance to hospital. Unable to take his medication orally anymore, he has been fitted with twin pumps. Both he and mum are clinging to each other, holding hands, rubbing James' back, brushing his hair. He is lost in the twisting labyrinthine corridors of the Waikato Hospital, hot, surrounded by unhappy, unwell people. The only redeeming features are the loving wife, the resumption of pain relief, the hope that tomorrow will bring him home, and the view over our city. From the hospital heights Hamilton looks plenty pretty, full of mature trees and a winding river, the lifeblood of the region. Loving thoughts, and best wishes gratefully accepted.

A Joke for the day:)

GRANDMA
:
The other day I went up to a local Christian bookstore and saw a honk if
you
love Jesus bumper sticker.

I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a
thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting, so I
bought the sticker and put in on my bumper.
I was stopped at a red light at a busy junction, just lost in thought
about
the Lord and how good He is and I didn't notice that the light had
changed.
It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't honked,
I'd
never have noticed.

I found that LOTS of people love Jesus. Why, while I was sitting there,
the
guy behind started honking like crazy, and when he leaned out of his
window
and screamed, "for the love of God, GO! GO!" What an exuberant
cheerleader
he was for Jesus.

Everyone started honking! I just leaned out of my window and started
waving
and smiling at all these loving people.

I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love. There must have
been
a man from the Gold Coast back there because I heard him yelling something
about a sunny beach...

I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck
up
in the air. When I asked my teenage grandson in the back seat what that
meant, he said that it was probably a Fijian's good luck sign or
something.

Well, I've never met anyone from Fiji, so I leaned out the window and gave
him the good luck sign back.

My grandson burst out laughing, why even he was enjoying this religious
experience.

A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that
they
got out of their cars and started walking towards me.

I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when
I
noticed the light had changed.

So, I waved to all my sisters and brothers grinning, and drove on through
the intersection.

I noticed I was the only car that got through the intersection before the
light changed again and I felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after
all the love we had shared, so I slowed the car down, leaned out of the
window and gave them all the Fijian good luck sign one last time as I
drove
away.

Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!

Drifting..

A new morning comes.
The days become the nights.
The nights are as the days.
Time is irrelevant now.
All that matters is the look from my love.
The "I love you Baby"
The "come lie with me honey".
I live for the words as he lives for me.
Love is a srong scent,a warm kiss.
Its all around us and within us.
We cannot bear the end.
Holding on for ever, never letting go.

Poppies

Is there anything more magnificient than poppies?? They are bold and yet so soft.Their petals fall slowly with the wind.I didnt even plant this poppy this year.It came out of the compost, lying dormant through the winter only to grow when Jake put compost all over my garden. This one raised its head and decided it wanted a new life.
Thats what life is like.No-one knows the beginning nor the end.Only God.

Ice storms

It was January 16th when I flew into Oklahoma City and met James. We fell in love.
One week later there was a huge icestorm, just like whats happening there now.The trees dripped so heavy with ice that they fell onto the powerlines and we had no power for a week!(I couldnt believe that something like that could happen..in NZ they constantly trim trees away from powerlines)...I found it SO beautiful. It was very cold, but the ice was sparkling in the sun and twinkling at night. We spent 5 days huddled together under a big blanket on the sofa..not a bad thing for 2 ppl so in love;).The problem was we had no power,no water and no food. The only place that had power was a chinese restuarant up the street away.Luckily James had a truck which was safe enough to drive in ice and the Chinese we smart enough to make sure they had a generator. We could sit in there, drinking hot coffee and eating springrolls and fried rice and it was wonderful.I remember those times with love.
So today is one of our anniversarys..a special one for us and another milestone passed..Now James sleeps all day and his best time is around 9-11pm..then he can still get me some wine, make green tea and thats enough energy for him to use.
Hes tired now,so weak...every day is for us.
I thank God for Jake, who, without his strength,I couldnt face each day.Hes happy and texts me with I love ya Mum.I need that love.My email box is always good to read each morning with letters from friends who just want to say they are thinking about me/us.I could never do this alone.

Hoglet

Did you know that baby hedgehogs are called hoglets? I didnt either until this wee guy turned up in the garden.Hes only about 5 inches long and he scuffles around...he was so thirsty when I gave him water that he almost drowned trying to drink enough. Its been very hot here and hadnt rained for days when he arrived.I think his mum may have been killed when the hay was done tho of course I have no proof. So when he appeared I googled hedgehogs and found out all kinds of stuff. They are insectivors and love beetles and worms but do also eat slugs and snails. They can eat their own body weight each night..OUr hoglet is being fed on cat biscuits and water. They like tinned cat food but we dont have any! and they love the little purina one cat food so its a very spoilt little hoglet.
He arrives at the deck a little after 6 pm and stays around long enough to eat and makes some funny calling noises..then he walks very quickly(to my surprise) off to jakes and around the vegie garden.Hes so cute and hes something to look forward to seeing..it makes James walk to the deck to look so hes theraputic as well:)

Hay Making Day

On saturday the haymaking contractors came in and began to make hay.First they cut it,then they turned it twice and later in the afternoon they bailed it.I told my brother he could have the hay.He asked me how many bales we usually get and I told him"oh around about 250...this year the grass was very thick and at the end of the day, with hay covering all the paddocks they finally counted 720!!! So my brother couldnt fit it all into his barn and called me a dumb blonde:)It was hard work for everyone and Ez loved driving in the cab of the bailer, except that he got a beesting and his foot swelled up! There were bails everywhere!

Its been a big weekend with many ppl and visitors. My oldest brother came from Auckland with his wife and Nathan who has been living in Bath England while he studies his degree at Bath University. It was so good to see him again!
James Mum rang yesterday and thanked me for taking care of her son.I thanked her for giving birth to him.She talked to James for a little while, long enough to say she loved him and he said the same. His voice is weak now and hes getting too tired to talk.Hes very weak and has no energy left. Its a mission for him to walk around now.Yesterday he was very low.He was unresponsive and deeply asleep. But by the end of the day,he managed to rally himself enough to have a bath and shave himself and eat a bit of dinner..he doesnt eat much and says its cos he has to save some for Red Dog! CUTE!
Everyone is on standby ready to come when I need them.So far Im fine.I have gathered all my strength and love and am holding up well.My fathers love is with me,and my grandmother who was the strongest lady ever..I am doing ok.My sister-in law told me that I have to make 'plans' WTF???? PLans??? I cant even know minute by minute whats going to happen and I sure cant plan my own life.
All I know is that I trust God and He will show me what to do.
